Schools & Colleges
General information for all schools & colleges
  • Any of the Colonial Walks is an ideal way of implementing elements of school or college syllabuses with a HANDS ON approach.

  • All of the walks complement visits which you might like to make to Parliament House or the Hyde Park Barracks (Walk 1) Museum of Sydney (Walk 2) the Sydney Observatory (Walk 3) Susannah Place (Walk 4). Teachers are asked to book visits to these other places well in advance to avoid disappointment. We can also take groups on a Rocks Walk then see them on to a train at Circular Quay in time for a visit to the Hyde Park Barracks.

  • A walk can be booked on a day and time to suit your class. Wet weather is not a problem! On wet days we can go into most of the public buildings to give the commentary.

  • All walks can be organised in reverse to suit your transport arrangements.

  • Student worksheets will be sent when you make a firm booking.

  • Each walk lasts for approximately two hours. Time is included for questions from students, and a short morning tea break.

  • The Director, Caroline Dorahy, is a trained teacher, and all our accredited guides are specially trained for School groups.
